CPA AUSTRALIA TEAM PREPARES FOR INDY
With only a week before the
Championship Finale on the streets of the Gold Coast at this year’s Indy 300,
the CPA Australia team have worked tirelessly on the 1990 Dallara over the last
few weeks.
Phillip Island saw Trengove
take a Level 2 win in Race 1, only to be ‘shafted’
(excuse the pun) by a broken water pump shaft. Having taken the lead in
the Series, Paul was forced to sit and watch as Anderson won Race 2 and claimed
back the lead.
Fearing major engine damage,
the team were relieved to discover that it survived the altercation. They are
completing a short test session at Mallala this Saturday, before departing on a
3 day trip to Queensland’s Gold Coast.
13 Points behind, Paul is
still a very good chance to win the Level 2 Series on the Gold Coast. The
Formula 3’s will have their Practice and 2 Qualifyings on Thursday, Race 1 on
Friday and the final race of the season on Saturday.
Trengove is optimistic about
his chances for the title, but things have to go his way on the day.
“Ive really got to focus on winning both races, but I also need
Anderson to finish lower than 2nd in at least one race and I’ve got
no control of that”.
